Carne Asada
Cooking Steps
A Mexican recipe that the “Whole Family” will love!
This is such a SIMPLE, flavorful, comfort-foodie, kick up your senses kind of meal. You will want to make it again and again.
So let’s get started.
I started this recipe with a crock-pot pork roast that I seasoned with salt, pepper, comino, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and oregano. After 8 hours of cooking the pork in it’s own juices it was falling apart and was perfect to shred and use for my carne asada.
If you don’t have a roast you can always use the carne asada dressing on raw meat, marinade and then cook or grill. Turns out wonderful!
Toppings for tacos:
1 onion, sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tomato, diced
1 avocado, sliced
lettuce leaves for tacos
……….
Here’s what you do:
1. Grill onions and bell peppers in coconut oil for 10-15 minutes.
2. Combine oil, juices, garlic, peppers, and spices.
3. Pour dressing over pork and mix together.
It should look like this beautiful bowl of seasoned pork:
4. Fill lettuce leaves with onions, bell peppers and pork. Top with diced tomatoes and sliced avocado.
I hope your whole family enjoys this meal as much as my “Whole Family” did.
Enjoy!

This sounds amazing and I will try it, but “carne asada” literally mean “grilled meat.” Growing up in a Hispanic culture, I know we “carne asada” is always beef, not pork. Maybe change the name? Just a suggestion. Love your website and have the iphone app.
This should be called carnitas. Carne Asada is beef, carnitas is pork. The recipe sounds yummy.
The recipe is delicious and I used beef not pork.
