Cherry Poppin’ Breakfast Shake

Added on April 10th, 2011 by our friend

Cooking Steps

This recipe was inspired by Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream, but with dark chocolate. It has tons of satisfying fat, and protein to boot. Frozen black cherries give the shake body and sweetness.

Grind chocolate in blender until powdered. Add remaining ingredients and blend to desired consistency. Throw in the freezer for 30 minutes to thicken shake, if desired. Enjoy!

  1. I’m concerned about “grinding” the chocolate in the blender. Does that rlly work? SHould I put it in my food processer instead? Or, can I just melt it & pour it into the shake as it’s blending?? Cherry Garcia is my FAVORITE ice cream and I am DYING to test this out. I still have to buy cocnut milk & cherries but I am so gonna make this.

I just used chocolate straight out of the wrapper, no melting required. Chopping it up in the blender worked like a charm for me, but do what works best for you! This recipe is the shiz, I promise it will be worth the effort!!!

  3. Gave this a try this morning. Tasted it and my head exploded. Way too good. Only problem I had was the chocolate not breaking up enough I guess, there was a large amount sitting at the bottom of the blender afterwards. Though I still ate that too.

  4. Tried it again and grounded it up to a finer powder with no problems.

  5. I am DYING to try this recipe! Along with a bunch of others I find on this site, especially the pork belly. Never made it before, but I am dreaming of how delic it is going to be!!!!
