I am so excited to have discovered Raw Foods + A Low Starch Diet. Without a doubt, adding raw foods into your life will add energy, health and good vibrations. For me I had to take it to the next level, and also be starch free. For the past 10 years, I have been battling a case of Ankylosing Spondylitis, a really yucky disease that causes painful inflammation and fusing of the spine, usually along with hellacious IBS, and in my case Colitis. The good news? I am now conquering my AS by eating lots of starch free & healthy raw foods. The recipes you will find on my blog will be a combination of: Raw, Vegan, Starch Free, Grain Free, Gluten Free, and easily adaptable to be SCD legal.

Carmen Eat Joy

I live in beautiful Mansfield in the high country of Victoria, Australia – on the way up to Mt Buller ski resort – and, well, I love my food. I’m the kind of girl who is always dreaming and/or fantasising about what I’m going to have for my next meal – when I’m going to have it, where it’s going to come from, how it’s going to make me feel – well, you get the drift. Yes, I am mildly (okay, that adjective is really just to console myself) obsessed with food. Food is definitely going to be a one-word titled post for me soon though – I’m going to define what I really consider to be food – and that definitely excludes a huge amount – in fact, nearly all – of what we see on our supermarket shelves. Fresh, organic or biodynamic produce – fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, biodynamic poultry and grass-fed meats – basically summarise what falls into the category of food for me. The gist of what I’ll be putting up here reflects the paleo way of eating and lifestyle – basically going back to what our ancestors ate – eating what we were born to eat, rather than food – or “products” that have been created by people.


Caveman Modern Woman

Based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and described by their families as ‘The crock pot and its lid” Emma and Khalid are a pair of modern-day adventurers. Both coming from geeky backgrounds – Khalid, a computer science major and Emma, a mechanical engineer, these two technical cook-for-fun chefs are not the first people you would trust with your dinner…Until now. Brought together by a love for food, cooking together was the first type of bonding this duo did, they then discovered their love for adventure and new experiences, which in turn led to more eating ☺ This blog will mainly cover their favourite topic, food, but they will also try to incorporate adventure into the eating, watch out for potjes and hangies!
