Paleo Macaroons with Berry Conserve

Added on August 3rd, 2012 by our friend from http://www.primalbritain.co.uk

Cooking Steps

Ensure you use a non-stick baking sheet. This is very important, otherwise the macaroons will stick and they will not come off easily. I made this mistake.

Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius.

Mix together the egg white and honey until frothy.

Pour in the dessicated coconut and mix together.

Add salt.

Scoop up the mixture into 7-8 little balls and place on the baking sheet.

Press them down so they are slightly flatter and make a little well in the top of each one.

Place in oven for 10 minutes.

Place berries in a saucepan (chop first if using fresh), along with the honey.

Simmer on medium heat until fruit has reduced and is a thick consistency.

Once macaroons have baked , allow them to cool.

Add a scoop of the berry conserve into the well in each macaroon.

  1. Is this 160 degrees farenheit? I just wanted to be sure before making them.

  2. Ute

Oops, I believe this should be Celsius. The poster is British, and I just looked up another macaroon recipe that. The oven had to be preheated to 350F. I will apply this change.

  3. What are the measurements for the ingredients? I guess I need to know the conversion for “g”

  4. Ute

You can google the conversions. It’s pretty easy to find. :) Good luck.

  5. These were delicious! :) P.S. 1 oz = 30 grams, and 160′C is about 320′F
