- 1/2 of a large spaghetti squash
- 1lb. of ground beef
- 2 nitrate free sausages chopped
- 3 eggs
- 4 cups of mark's daily apple homemade BBQ sauce
- 1/2 of onion chopped
- 4 slices of nitrate free bacon
- Toppings: 1/2 cup of each : chopped pineapple mushrooms chopped red bell peppers and organic mozzarella cheese (optional)
Cut large spaghetti squash in half and bake it in the oven at 425 degrees for 40 mins. Let cool and then scrape squash into mixing bowl
While squash is baking brown ground beef and chopped sausage.
Also make 4 cups of BBQ sauce. I used mark\'s daily apple BBQ sauce recipe. This recipe makes 1 cup. Just quadruple it: 1/3 cup (about 3 ounces) tomato paste 2 tablespoons melted butter 1/2 – 1 teaspoon hot sauce 1 – 2 tablespoons honey 2 – 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 teaspoons tamari 1/2 teaspoon mustard 2 tablespoons water 1⁄4 teaspoon ground allspice 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder 1⁄2 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Save 1/2 a cup for later
Mix the squash, meat, 3.5 cups of BBQ sauce, 3 eggs, 1/2 chopped onion in mixing bowl and put in a greased pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 min.
Take it out and layer cheese, mushrooms, red bell pepper, pineapple and 4 slices of bacon on top. Then drizzle your 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce on top. Put it back in the oven for 15 min. Enjoy!
