Mom\’s Homemade Barbecue Sauce}

Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan and cook over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes. The end. Actually, the beginning… of amazing chicken! Store leftovers in the fridge, covered.

*use 1 1/2 c. ketchup and no water in place of tomato paste.
*substitute garlic salt for granulated garlic and kosher salt.


  • 12 oz. organic tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. molasses
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 2 T. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 - 1/2 t. chili pepper (depending on how hot you like it)
  • 1 t. granulated garlic
  • 1/2 t. paprika
  • 1/8 - 1/4 t. black pepper & 1/2 t. kosher salt
