Heat olive oil and add the turnips, abd celery root and saute until soft. This is actually most of the cooking time and could be up to 25 mins unless you par boil the roots and keep them stored as I do. When the roots are soft add the garlic, onion, mushrooms, thyme, pepper and oregano. Saute until desired tenderness. I dont like mine too mushy so this is really to your taste. After its done and AT THE VERY END add the celtic sea salt to taste. My mom skips the salt all together. ENJOY!


  • 2 medium Turnips
  • 1 whole celery root
  • 6 oz container of mushrooms
  • 1 clove of minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup of chopped onions
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • celtic salt to taste
  • 1/4 dried oregano
  • 2-3 Tbsp olive oil
