Sorta Festive Slow Cooker Turkey

Added on May 4th, 2012 by our friend from http://thecreativecaveman.com

Cooking Steps

Turkey – it’s not just for Thanksgiving, you know….!

1 Lie 5 slices of bacon down on the bottom of your slow cooker.

2 Layer the turkey breast on top of that.

3 Pour in your dried cranberries and apple wedges.

4 Top with the other 5 slices of bacon.

5 Toss a bit of ground pepper on top.

6 Turn on slow cooker to low for about 5 hours.

By the way – the turkey sorta sticks together and shreds apart (Honest, that sentence makes sense.). So you just sorta pull out bits of it onto your plate. If you’ve ever complained that turkey is too dry, this will certainly change your mind!

  1. This is AMAZING. Whole Foods only had dark meat for the turkey, but it worked just as well. Epic win for SURE.

  2. Great recipe. Made this with a pre-packaged boneless Turkey Breast(yes not truly paleo…) last night. 8hrs on Low in my fancy slow-cooker and the smells alone were enough to induce ooo’s and ahhs from family. Flavor was fantastic.
