When Paleo Snacks Attack
Cooking Steps
When Primal Snacks Attack!
I saw these popcorn cartons for sale and needed them in my life. I don’t know if it’s because my cheat day is so very, very far away but I’m starting to replace porn with neolithic foods. This was a way to keep myself sane until the 1st of December (aka naked cheat day).Snacks are (from left to right): Roasted Cinnamon Nuts, Plantain and bacon chips, Roasted Chestnuts. Obviously snack in moderation!
Snack One: Bacon and Plantain chips cooked in Coconut Oil
Ok, I’ll admit it. I may have stopped midway through cooking these to touch myself because of the smells coming from the pan. Coconut oil…bacon….
Prep: peel and slice the plantains then fry them in the cocnut oil until they’re golden. Add some shredded bacon (I only used one rasher) and leave to drain on some kitchen paper. Done!
Snack Two: Roasted Cinnamon Nuts
Prep: little more work involved this time. Set your oven to 140C and line a tray with baking paper. Take a handful of your favourite paleo-approved nuts and mix in a table spoon of cocnut oil, half a table spoon of cinnamon and half a tablespoon of mixed spices.
Mix in a tablespoon of honey, mix well then line out on the tray. Stick your nuts in the oven (what?) for 10 minutes then drizzle another tablespoon of honey before sticking your nuts in the oven again for another ten minutes (seriously, what?).
Serve those bad boys!
*Snigger
Snack Three: Roasted Chestnuts
Prep: seriously? Ok..er…well…crisscross them with a sharp knife on a secure chopping board and watch your fingers. Erm….stick them on a tray and…er…grill them. That’s pretty much it mate
They’ll be done when they open up like dis here picture. Keep them on a low heat and keep an eye on them so they don’t turn black.

This is so great! I started reading the recipe without knowing who posted it and saw “Ok, I’ll admit it. I may have stopped midway through cooking these to touch myself because of the smells coming from the pan. Coconut oil…bacon…” I didn’t even have to look. Oh Finn you crack me up! I love your style!
